Thames narrowboat fire

A NARROWBOAT on the Thames at Oxford has been badly damaged by fire.

It was the owner who discovered the fire inside his boat as he returned to it, immediately calling the fire brigade.

Being on a berth away from the road, the owner of the boatyard took it upon himself to drag the boat to where the fire fighters could reach it, to tackle the fire, but by that time it was badly damaged.

By dragging the boat away from the berths, it prevented any other craft being affected by the fire.
