THE SITE OF ANOTHER CLOSURE on the Llangollen Canal caused by a leak/breach.
The breach is immediately north (above) of the lift bridge and the flooded field was to the east (right), at the New Mills Lift Bridge.
The bund is going in roughly half way between the lift bridge and the road bridge. That route was still open to boats on the Arm up until now.
No sign of stop planks
Workers were seen measuring for stop planks, but there is no sign of the stop planks yet, but the contractors have built a hardcore road from the work compound; removed the hedge, and carried on over the towpath to the water's edge.
Though the option was given for boats to move away from the Arm, this is no longer possible.
