RIVER CANAL RESCUE has posted its latest video on You Tube, explaining how to use a multimeter.

The device measures voltage, current and resistance in electrical circuits and enables users to troubleshoot, diagnose and test components such as batteries, outlets, fuses and wiring.

Kerry Horton on setVarious functions

Fronted by RCR standards and ethics executive, Kerry Horton, (pictured) he explains the various functions on a multimeter, the main two needed by boaters, voltage and continuity, and how to use them to check for faults in an electrical system.

Four ‘how to…’  videos can now be viewed, covering topics requested by boaters. Three others discuss; stern gland adjustment and packing replacement, engine alignment training and checking/changing your fan belt. All are designed to complement RCR’s practical guide—Narrowboat Engine Maintenance and Repair.
