The Shropshire  Union Canal Society 'Minor Tasks Team' have refurbished the visitor moorings at Christleton.

The team of four met on Wednesday 7th April  at the Cheshire Cat Hotel at Christleton near Chester to refurbish the very old rings and loops which had become buried over the years since this site was vacated by Deans Marina and the footbridge removed, many years ago, writes Paul Mills.

The old fixings were located, and the grass removed. The old loops were cut off and the existing concrete blocks drilled to enable new forged rings to be installed with adhesive.

The job was completed by 4.30pm and the rings were ready for use. This is a popular stopping point prior to the journey down into Chester.
