THE NEW PADDLES that were required for Lock 4 on the Glasson Branch have been received and work started on their installation.
It required special paddles for the lock, Keith Gudgin reports.
The installed paddles failed on the 5th January, so closing the branch off the Lancaster Canal, but as these were of a unique design they had to be ordered then made.

These have now been received and told that work on the replacement will start today, Monday and expected to be completed this week.
The Glasson Branch takes the waterway from the Lancaster Canal down to the basin that allows access to and from the Lune.
