FROM BEING UNABLE TO CRUISE due to no rain, we now have too much as storm after storm comes from across the Atlantic.

flood12bThe third storm

The third storm is just about finishing, Janet Friend reports.

But this once again raised flood alerts by the Environment Agency.

The Severn is in flood, with the agency pointing out the river from Tewkesbury to Gloucester is particularly bad.

Flood alerts are in force on the Trent in Nottinghamshire and the Soar in Leicester.

The Trent in Nottinghamshire right down to Cromwell Weir is in flood with the picture showing the river below Derwent Mouth to Sawley Flood Lock, at an earlier flood.

Thames

The upper reaches of the Thames have flood warnings around Oxford, that are now at a lower level

Other navigational rivers are affected, with boaters told to avoid if possible.

It is now a matter of waiting for the next storm, as the one at present in America will surely eventually reach us!
