We are on the Stort, with low water, and guess what?
We are informed that gates and paddles were left open at Lower Lock on the river, that has resulted in low water above Lower Lock, and at Roydon Marina, the boaters complaining!
So now, the gates will be locked to allow water levels to recover.
We all know that this is an excuse for leaking gates, for if the top gates didn't leak so much, as pictured, the pound wouldn't have emptied even if the bottom gates were left open. And suggesting that all paddles were left open is just silly, as then the lock would not operate.
But at last—no blame! But why not just get the leaking gates repaired...
