Two 'low water' closures

THERE HAVE BEEN two lack of water closures over the weekend.
The Oxford Canal was closed on Saturday between locks 26 and 27 that has low levels, Keith Gudgin reports.
The pound between Slat Mill Lock 26 and Little Bourton 27 was closed to navigation on Saturday, but water has been run down and the pound is now open.
Leicester Section
There have been further stoppages through lack of water on the Leicester Section of the Grand Union Canal.
The pound between Aylestone Mill Lock 39 to St. Mary's Mill Lock 40 is closed through low water levels. Despite efforts to correct the water level, it still remains too low for navigation.
But told that teams will resume the work to restore these water levels.
