Eight closures on Leeds & Liverpool since early November

Another L&L bridge closed. THERE HAVE BEEN EIGHT closures on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal since the 2nd November.

Due to broken swing bridges

Four of the closures on the waterway were due to broken swing bridges, as does the present closure, due this time to a failed barrier.

As boaters only too often tell, the swing bridges on the Leeds & Liverpool really need maintenance to stop their constant failures, holding up boaters while contractors get to sort out the problems.

This time we are told the contractors 'have been called to investigate and repair'.
