They haven't a clue!

IT WOULD seem that the various contractors brought in to solve the problem of the non working Loco Lift Bridge haven't a clue.

For the Loco Lift Bridge is still not repaired, Keith Gudgin reports.

In November

It was way back on the 17th of November that the Loco Swing Lift on the Huddersfield Broad Canal stopped working with the team on site having confirmed the motor has failed. It was taken out for inspection and repair and then installed—but the bridge still would not work.

Then the problem was found to be a clutch fault, with the part being sourced in Germany. the part was installed, but the lift still would not not work.

Then the electronics were suspect, so another contractor was brought in, but to no avail—the bridge still would not work.

Since then—nothing, as it is obvious that no one knows what to do. The excuse being they are still looking for parts, but what for, is no lomger told.

Recondition

It doesn't say much for the recondition that was carried out early in the year.

To get boaters through various dates have been given, but no boats turned up on the last date in December.
