Whoops!

IT WOULD seem that the contractors doing an 'essential maintenance and improvement work' don't really know what they are doing!

For such work on the Kennet & Avon Canal pumping station has left it with a 'reduced capacity' and unable to keep the pound between Semington and Bradford-on-Avon in water.

Not enough depth

This means that there is not enough depth of water to allow navigation and so Bradford-on-Avon Lock (14) is now closed until further notice while the contractors 'have another go'!

Canal & River Trust had its contractors out this morning, Thursday, doing all they could to reduce the loss, but despite their efforts had to close Bradford-on-Avon lock as levels had not yet recovered.
