SWING bridges have been causing stoppages over the few days of this month so far.

With no less than six breaking down, with four stoppages on the Leeds & Liverpool as Keith Gudgin reports.

BrewerySBCannot be swung

There was Cowling Swing Bridge that 'cannot be swung'.

Then the Brewery Swing Bridge had no power. Then failed again after just six days.(Pictured.)

Then it was the Crabtree Swing Bridge whose balustrade became detached.

Then it was yet another swing bridge this time the West Mills Swing Bridge on the Kennet & Avon that had 'damage to its approach ramp', whatever that means.

And still another this time on the Macclesfield the Royal Oak Swing Bridge that had a 'fault in operation'.
