A RECORD to be ashamed of is 30 navigation stoppages in 30 days!

With stoppages on the Regents Canal, Lee Navigation and Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation making up this total for May, and another day to go!

Three Mills LockRegent's Canal

Salmons Lane Lock (11) on the Regents Canal is out of action 'until further notice' as its bottom gate paddle gear is not longer operating efficiently, Keith Gudgin reports.

The Three Mills Lock (pictured) is closed on the Lee Navigation on the Prescott Channel, with repairs being arranged but no intimation of what the repairs are or how long they will take.

Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation is closed at Long Sandal Lock with a pedestal failure preventing navigation.

It is expected that contractors will attend today.

Kennet & Avon

Bad news on the failure of Heathy Close Lock (52) on the Kennet & Avon Canal that failed, as the expected repair did not take place.

Further investigation is now required that could take place today (Wednesday). The outcome of this failure has resulted in the flight of locks from Lock (51) at Wootton Rivers Lock through to Crofton Lock (61) being closed until a suitable repair is carried out.
