New bridge over the Trent

 A NEW pedestrian and cycle bridge is to be built over the Trent in Nottingham.

At an estimated £12m the bridge will connect the Trent Basin waterside housing estate on the north side of the river with the Lady Bay area on the south side, Roger Fox reports.

Price increased

It was originally priced at 9m but has increased owing to changes to the design and inflation, with a planning application to be submitted in early summer this year, with construction expected to commence in Spring 2024.

Balfour Beatty won the project through its Scape framework and with government funding secured through the Transforming Cities programme, that helped boost the project.
