A WOMAN has lost her life after being hit by a speeding cyclist on the Thames towpath.

The woman in her 80s was hit by a cyclist near Iffley Lock on the 20th of November, Keith Gudgin reports.

Later died

She was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford but later died.

Thames Valley Police reported that the woman was hit by a dark grey Btwin hybrid bicycle on the towpath.

The cyclist was unhurt and no arrests have been made, but the police are now appealing for witnesses and are interested in hearing from any boaters at the lock at the time.
