Still 'passing the buck' on the Erewash

VANDALS are yet again being blamed by Canal & River Trust for low pounds on the Erewash Canal.
It states: Due to continued vandalism of lock gates being left open, boaters are advised that the low water level issues now extend from Trent Lock to Stanton Lock.
Should not drain pounds
But as Keith Gudgin reports when reporting this:
'Leaving gates open should not drain pounds! There are two sets of gates on a lock, if one is open the other is closed...both sets cannot be open at the same time. If they were watertight then the pound could not drain!
'If the paddles are being opened by unauthorised persons then the answer is to replace the anti-vandal locks. CaRT need to stop trying to pass the blame onto others?'
