Vandals act on impulse

I JUST cannot understand this continuing blame of empty pounds on the Erewash Canal on vandalism, writes Rob Hawkins.

The trust say it happened overnight in the latest draining of pounds, which means that the vandals came prepared to do mischief, which is what I do not understand.

Act on impulse

Vandals surely act on impulse, when they see something they can harm/destroy, not coming prepared and not doing the same thing time after time that the trust want us to believe.

Using the Erewash for cruising I put it down to the badly leaking gates and paddles that can easily drain a pound overnight should the lock above be fairly watertight. So should the leaks be attended to there will be no more such stoppage notices proclaiming 'we had a repeat of yesterday's vandalism'.
