More problems with Watford Flight

THE Canal & River Trust tells that further unexpected faults have been discovered on the locks of Watford Flight.

This means that the flight on the southern end of the Leicester Section of the Grand Union Canal will be closed for four weeks starting Monday 22nd November until Friday 17th December, Keith Gudgin reports.

Discovered when assessing flight

It is not stated what these 'unexpected faults' are, only that they were discovered when assessing the lock flight.

The original notice of closure was to allow emergency works to repair the lock wall and floor at Lock 3.

There will be further work to the flight during the winter stoppage when gates are to be replaced in January.
