Unsafe moorings

IT WOULD seem the permanent moorings at Tyrley on the Shropshire Union are not too safe.

The owners of the boats found out yesterday (Monday) that they had all been broken into whilst they were snowed up, and articles stolen, with Richard Hall telling us the cheeky intruder even turned on the gas and made himself a hot drink on one of the boats!

Not in their county

A call to the emergency services didn't help the boaters much either, with the Staffordshire police taking a great deal of convincing  that Tyrley was in their county!  So much for community policing  adds Richard, and a call to British Waterways, and the contact hadn't even heard of Tyrley!

He remarks that it doesn't  give much for the chances of Ralph's emergency plans.
