GOOD news about the Kennet & Avon Canal broken swing bridge.
The Oxlease Swingbridge (33) has been repaired and is now fully operational, Keith Gudgin reports.
Not so lucky
Not so lucky however with the Leeds & Liverpool Dock Swing Bridge (209) that failed on Monday, the needed parts arrived too late to have it repaired to date, but passage is allowed between 2pm and 2.30pm daily.
Neither is it so lucky on the Rochdale as the car in the water on Monday between locks 48 and 49 at Littleborough has still not been removed and the navigation is closed.
This is awaiting third party recovery of the car from the waterway.
