Two bodies in canals

AN APPEAL has been launched after the body of a man was discovered in the Staffs & Worcs Canal.

The body of 72 years old Albert Antonio Bartlett, also known as Tony Bartlett was dragged from the canal in Kidderminster, Alan Tilbury reports.

The police have launched an appeal for information and want to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone on the towpath or anyone he was talking to or anyone acting suspiciously.

Another body

The body of a woman was discovered in the Bridgewater Canal at Altrincham that has prompted a police investigation, reports I Dugald Campbell.

The body was seen by a towpath walker at dawn yesterday, Tuesday, floating in the waterway and the emergency services alerted with both the waterway and nearby roads sealed off.

Forensic officers arrived at the navigation making a thorough investigation of the area and enquiries are ongoing. Paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
