Ripon Canal wasn't de-watered

THOUGH the Canal & River Trust stated the Ripon Canal would be de-watered week commencing the 10th of May it was not.

This was to allow work on a broken cill to start, but now we are told work will start, and Oxclose Lock (3) will be de-watered today, Monday, 17th, Keith Gudgin reports.

Stuck for four weeks

This stoppage means that no boats have access to or from their moorings at Ripon since the 19th April—four weeks and no intimation when the work will be completed.

It was Kevin Howell, a moorer at Ripon who told us that over 200 boats where stuck there way back in April (Boaters in limbo) with no information as to when work will start or how long it will take.

Telling they had been stuck in lockdown but still cannot go anywhere. Very frustrating, stuck in limbo.
