What's going on?

THE Canal & River Trust has lowered the water of a 13 miles pound of the Grand Union Canal—until further noticefor 'water resources'.

buckby btm Here is another cracker from CaRT, writes Roger Fox. This is a very long pound stretching from the top lock at Stoke Bruerne past the Northampton Arm Top Lock to Buckby Bottom Lock (pictured) and taking in several marinas on the way.

What have they done with the water?

What have they done with all the water?  Or is this why the Great River Ouse is in flood. It must be something very urgent if stop planks have not been installed, after all there are lots of places where this could be done without having to lower the whole pound.

CaRT, please tell us what is going on...
