AT LEAST one resident moorer at Sawley Marina on the Trent has tested positive for coronavirus.

This has been confirmed by the marina that has put in a system of self-isolation for those who have been in near contact and introduced stringent cleaning methods.

It is not revealed on which part of the marina the outbreak has occurred but understood to be the residents moorings, that with others scattered about the marina contain well over 100 resident berths.

Those self isolating in 'lockdown' are asked to refrain from using the shared facilities, but as it is impractical not to use the pump-out or toilet facilities these are being scrupulously cleaned and timed slots being made available.

Self-isolating times

These are between 8am and 11am for those self-isolating, after which they will be closed between 11am and noon for cleaning then open again for those self-isolating from noon until 3pm.

For normal use the facilities will only be open from 3pm onwards.  The general boating public or those not self-isolating will not be allowed to use the facilities during the hours of 8am to 3pm.

Visitors should use Test and Trace system

Visitors to Sawley Marina are being advised to use the NHS Covid app to scan the QR codes that have been installed to support the NHS Test and Trace system.
