PLANS have been submitted for a £85 millions canal side quarter in Worcester.

The development on the Worcester & Birmingham Canal will cover a 3.2 acre site comprising housing, office and retail space, Roger Fox reports.

A proposal clearly done with the full collaboration of CaRT as the canals are being made into water features. At last it has its way! Roger adds.

These proposals take in Lowesmoor Wharf on the canal that at present comprises of a mix of industrial and warehousing units, with Matt Chandler, Development Director at Godwin Developments, explaining:

“We plan to transform the former canals into water features, paying homage to the rich canal history of Worcester and the wider Midlands region. These will provide a focal point of the development and its new waterside apartments, cafes and restaurants, proposed as a part of the scheme.”

The plans are to go before the council but it is expected there will be little objection.
