Leeds & Liverpool open this week-end

WITH scaffolding contractors now on site at Barrowford Flight it is expected that the a broken cill can now be quickly repaired.

The Leeds & Liverpool has been closed all week as the broken cill on the bottom lock of the Barrowford Flight failed last Saturday—the day after restrictions were lifted as Keith Gudgin reported.

Work can commence

But now that the scaffolding can be erected, work can commence and there is every hope the flight will be open for this week-end.

With no swing bridge failures reported, the whole waterway at present is open for navigation, with just the time restrictions on the Five Rise and Wigan flights.
