Weddings for the boat lift

BOATERS are having to wait until July to get off the Weaver, but plans are well ahead for it as a wedding venue in the meantime.

The trip boat will be used to transport guests that have arrived at the car park down the lift to the marquee by the Weaver where the weddings will take place.

Other events

In addition to weddings, the marquee will be having further use as a function room for such events as corporate hire, parties and school activities, With Canal & River Trust stating that this will play a big part in the use of the lift in the future, as it can hold a large number of people.

All boaters requiring to use the lift in the future will need to book passage so as not to interfere with such events taking place.  (An unusual photograph of the lift covered in 'flutterfetti'—ideal for weddings!)
