Up go the buildings

WORK is progressing well on the new Overwater Marina on the Shropshire Union Canal at Audlem with the facilities buildings going up and many jetties now installed.

This month the marina is holding its first Open Day for potential moorers, with a chance for them to view the site and chat to Janet or Angus Maughan, who own the Marina and the farm in which it sits, with the Open Day on Sunday 22nd November from 10am to 3pm.

Whilst access to the actual site will be limited because of the ongoing nature of the construction, visitors will be able to view the marina from a safe vantage point.

All of the basin excavation is now finished, and many of the jetties are in, and  Janet tells that the people are working hard to get all the wiring and water pipes in, adding:

"Just as well given that the rain has finally come and one thing is for sure—the marina can definitely hold water! So perhaps in the case of inclement weather, wellies or stout boots are advised."

Janet warns that end moorings are selling out fast, and advises potential moorers not to miss out on the chance to book an end mooring at no extra cost.
