What has changed?

We often meet canoeists on the Staffs & Worcs above the junctions, and they are always in a party of mostly young ages with someone in charge.

As soon as they hear us coming they get into the side, with one particular party chanting 'aye, aye, captain' as I steer past that we both find rather endearing.

In the ten or so years we have had our narrowboat we have met other canoeists, but have always slowed down for them, and they usually pull into the side as we pass, but cannot report any problems.
