THE Grill & Grain that was destroyed by fire (Canalside pub destroyed) at Riley Green on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal is to be re-built.
Massive damage
The fire in April caused massive damage to the building and interior that will now be structurally made safe and re-built, Alan Tilbury reports.
Started accidentally
The investigation into the fire has been concluded and found that it was started accidentally, but not to be cooking related. The blaze was a great blow as the pub had undergone a £1 million restoration last November.
It is not yet known what work will be required until the structural engineers and architects have given their findings.
Thwaites, the owner is attempting to redeploy the staff, and will offer them their jobs back when the pub is reopened.
