Peak Forest closed

ANY boater thinking of paying a visit to Bugsworth Basin or the Macclesfield this week-end from the North, would perhaps do well to 'think again'.

For once more, the Peak Forest Canal is closed, this time at Lock 12 on the Marple Flight, with the damage being accessed, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Lock gates detached

The gates on the lock have somehow become detached and of course the lock is incomparable.  There is not intimation if this will be open fir the week-end.
