Flight open—then closed again

OWING  to pollution, the Northampton Flight of the Grand Union Canal was closed to navigation on Sunday (2nd),  then re-opened the following day.

Discovering that a burst pipe had been responsible for the pollution, it was repaired allowing the flight to be re-opened, but the Environment Agency required the pipe to now be tested.

Closed from noon

This means that the flight will be closed from noon until 6pm today to allow the testing, but then should be permanently open.

The Agency however has still not explained the nature of the pollution.
