Free drink and chat

THE Dudley Canal & Tunnel Trust is inviting everyone to its Chit Chat Club at the Gongoozler Restaurant to enjoy a free hot drink and a friendly chat.

The Chit Chat Club runs every week on a Tuesday morning between 10am and midday, and is completely free to attend, with no need to book. Potential chatters can now look forward to new reasons to go along, with everyone who attends now getting a free hot drink thanks to grant support from the Aviva Community Fund.

Guest speakers

New for 2017, the Chit Chat Club will also be hosting guest speakers on the first Tuesday of every month. Professional crafts people, scientists, archivists, curators and more make up the schedule of talks, all provided in an informal setting for free. The first talk will be by Tim Yorke, about his Roses & Castles painting. A full timetable can be found on the Trust's website. The picture shows Lyn Head, one of the volunteers chatting to visitors to the club.

Sarah Fellows, Heritage Activities Officer exclaimed:

"We are really looking forward to welcoming guest speakers from across the Midlands to chat with our group.

"Chit Chat is a fantastic place for people to come each week to meet new people. Whether you're feeling lonely, new to the area or just want to make some new friends, our friendly volunteers can't wait to meet you."

In addition to a free hot drink, a 25% discount on food and drink in the Gongoozler will also be available during the morning.
