More facilities for White Mills Marina

THE new White Mills Marina at Earls Barton on the Nene can now start Phase two of its development after the news that it has a successful grant funding.

This is the result of it receiving part funding from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, the Rural Payments Agency and the Rural Development programme for England 2014-2020.

New facilities building

This means the 141 berth marina can start its new facilities building, that has been hugely welcomed by farmers John and Debbie Skinner who opened White Mills Marina on 1st April last year.

Once completed the new building will provide ladies and gents toilets and showers as well as disabled facilities and a much need community/meeting room for boaters and visitors to the marina, with John explaining:

"Knowing that they believe so whole heartedly in the next phase of our development is a real boost and of course a fantastic start to 2017, we can't thank them enough.

"The facilities building will enable us to provide the type of first class facilities that boaters have now come to expect from a brand new purpose built marina. Once it is up and running then we can begin to utilise the main area of the building and host different events throughout the year, and organise some social activities for our boaters and the wider community."

Completed by May

Work on creating the facilities building is expected to start within the next two months and it is hoped to have it completed by the beginning of May this year in time for the busy boating season.

Being a brand new marina, White Mills Marina already has an extensive range of facilities available to boaters including electricity, water and Wifi to every berth, Elsan disposal, pump out, diesel, recycling, laundry room and a book/DVD swap.
