Safety on the Water event

THE Leicestershire Fire and Rescue in partnership with British Waterways Marinas Ltd have organised a Safety on the Water event.

 

This is to be held at Sawley Marina on Sunday 22nd January, which is a free of charge event that will be invaluable for the marina boat owners, with an invitation to come and see the demonstration and learn how to rescue someone without putting yourself in harms way.

In two parts

The event is in two parts, with a demonstration followed by a safety talk in the berth holders' lounge, with a session stating at 10.30 and ending at 12.30.  A further session will be held at 13.30 until 15.30.

The demonstration will show practical ways for the public to effect a rescue, then using the equipment provided, throw a line, use hose inflation gear, the inflatable boat and a tethered swim.

The talk will last for 45 minutes in the berth holders' lounge, followed by an invitation for questions.
