Vandals strike Woverhampton 21

NOTWITHSTANDING anti vandal locks, vandals have drained various pounds of the Wolverhampton 21 Flight, leaving it completely unnavigable.

The pound, as pictured, at Cannock Road Bridge on the flight, is the worst hit, being completely drained, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Drastically reduced

But other pounds have their the water levels drastically reduced, and completely unnavigable. with the pound by Fox's Lane bridge near Wolverhampton Racecourse very low.

This happened earlier this week, and with Canal & River Trust workers controlling the flow into the drained pounds, the flight should be navigable again.

It is thought that vandals were responsible for draining the pounds, as this has happened in the past, though a watermate key is needed for the paddles, but which can be easily obtained at chandlers.
