Bodies in the waterways

TWO bodies were discovered in the waterways last week, with one in the Grand Union Canal and one in the Montgomery Canal.

It was a woman's body that was discovered in the Grand Union in Leicester  after her husband reported her missing, after she left their house at 3am in the morning, with the police discovering her body, Alan Tilbury reports.

A man's body was recovered from the Montgomery at Queens Head  (pictured) after the police were alerted by a towpath walker, though in this case the body had not been identified, and police were continuing their investigation.

In this case the waterway was not closed.
