Bait is worse

Regarding the piece on 'Feeding the ducks' I would point out that the amount of high protein ground bait thrown into Tring reservoirs each year vastly exceeds the children's duck feeding, writes Our Man on the Summit.

The three reservoirs that allow this practice have to have barley straw bales strung across them each summer to stop the blue green algae bloom.

Yet Tringford Reservoir, where no coarse fishing is allowed, just trout, does not require any treatment.
