Treat for real-ale lovers

THE Dudley Canal Trust have partnered with Sadler's of Lye to provide a special treat for real-ale lovers who attend its second annual Real Ale Festival this July.

Supporters of the Trust were asked on Facebook and in their quarterly publication The Legger to come up with a name for a Sadler's ale to celebrate 50 years of Dudley Canal Trust. Of all the entries, the panel chose Gillian Olivia Fisher's suggestion of ‘A Trip Back in Time'.

A fitting name

"We're very excited Sadler's have agreed to support us in recognising our significant anniversary in this way," says Jeff Luesley, Chairman of Dudley Canal Trust Trips Ltd. "Gillian's entry seemed to us to be a very fitting name for us."

Festival-goers will have over 60 different ales to try from the Black Country and further afield, including that from Sadler's of Lye and Black Country Breweries. Souvenir glasses will be on sale, as well as a range of hot food.

The event, which runs from Wednesday 2nd to Saturday 5th July, will be held at the Trust's site on the Birmingham New Road in Dudley. Entry is just £2, or free for CAMRA and Trust members. More details are available on the Trust's website and Facebook page.
