He is taking part this coming Saturday (10th May) in the Montgomery Canal Triathlon— cycling, canoeing and running along all 35 miles of the canal, and tells us:

"I know it is late in the day (a bit like my preparation for the event!) but I am writing to ask you to consider sponsoring me. I am insisting on only small amounts please, as I know how much support you give to the waterways and other good causes already, but anything you can give would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping to raise £500 to go towards our work to look after our canals and rivers. It will give me that added incentive to get to the end!"
