Swans dying

MANY swans have been found dead along the River Great Ouse in St. Neots, that is proving a mystery.

Within two weeks 13 swans have been found dead in the river, with no explanation being discovered for their sudden deaths, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Not targeted

It is not thought the swans are being targeted, as seven ducks have also been found dead, with neither the Environment Agency nor the police being able to discover why.

The dead birds have been discovered along a short stretch of the river between St Neots Marina and Little Paxton, with no explanation so far as to the reason for their deaths. Autopsies have shown nothing that could cause the deaths and the quality of the water has been tested and found to be of acceptable standard.

Neither is there any sign of the birds suffering physical harm.
