Tattenhall Marina offically opened

THE £2.5 millions Tattenhall Marina on the Shropshire Union Canal is now officially open.

Work began last October on the 300 berths marina, and was officially opened this week, with the first narrowboats—and great crested newts—being welcomed. The newts had to be catered for in a separate basin.

The marina is exceptionally well equipped, with all boaters' facilities, and the owners advertising a shop, post office, two pubs, restaurant, chemist, butchers and even a doctors' surgery!

There are of course diesel and pump-out facilities with electric and water to each jetty. A laundry with ironing facilities is also offered.
