Santa on the Chesterfield

ONCE again Santa is on the Chesterfield Canal, at both Chesterfield and Retford, with boat trips for the children.

Santa Special trips in Chesterfield will run all day on every Saturday and Sunday up to Christmas, starting on Saturday 27th November.

They run from Tapton Lock, which is on the A61 in Chesterfield at the Tesco roundabout, SatNav S41 7JB. To book, or for further information, ring Tapton Lock Visitor Centre on 01246 551035.

Retford

Santa Special trips in Retford (where he seems to be having problems with his reindeer!) will run all day on every Saturday and Sunday up to Christmas, starting on Saturday 4th December. Also on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons on 7th, 9th, 14th and 16th December. They run from The Hop Pole, which is on the A620, Welham Road, SatNav DN22 6UG. In both cases, all adults get festive food and a drink. All children get a present from Santa. There is a flat fare of £5 which will go towards the restoration of the canal.
