THIS Saturday, 30th October, a new piece of artwork to commemorate the bicentenary of the Kennet & Avon Canal will be unveiled on the canal towpath at  Bath.

The artwork is a sundial created by local artist Alan Dun and has been designed to 'reflect the constant flow of time, depicting the link between the canal and our working heritage'.

Arriving by boat

On Saturday the artwork will be officially unveiled—with local dignitaries including Lady Margaret of the Natural Theatre Co arriving by boat to perform the task. There will also be stone cutting and carving demonstrations and visitors will be able to see miniature versions of the sundial created by local school children.

The artwork is one of many activities that have happened along the canal to help celebrate the 200th anniversary of the waterway.
