First boat in new marina

THE first boat is now in the new Becket's Park Marina on the Nene in Northampton.
This is the St John Ambulance charity boat the Northamptonshire Crusader that carries people with special needs along the river.
The marina is not yet officially open, which is scheduled for March next year, when the 80 berths will be available for boaters.
The pontoons are now in place, one being used by the charity boat, but there is still work to be undertaken on the marina to make it completely ready for its opening.
Six of the moorings have been allocated for residential use.
