Stealing fish

LUTON Angling Club is worried about its fish stocks in the Grand Union Canal as men have been seen taking them away for food.

Anglers are asking boaters and towpath walkers to keep an eye out for men taking fish away after a bailiff caught two men with eight dead bream in a bucket in Linslade, from a section of which the club owns the fishing rights.

Confiscated

The bailiff confiscated the fish, and warned the men that taking them is an offence and could lead to a hefty fine.

The bailiff told that stealing fish for food is a growing concern among anglers across the country.
