More photographs

It was only last week that we stated there were nearly 100 photographs in our new State of the waterways category in our Gallery—now there are 109!

This is the latest to be added, showing a mooring area on the Caldon Canal, submitted by Pauline Clark, but showing more than anything just how boaters are concerned at the total lack of maintenance of the waterways now that the lengthsmen have been replaced by contractors.

As Pauline relates, the actual canal is on the right of the photograph, showing the impossibility of being able to actually moor to the rings.

What is annoying so many boaters is that contractors are busy clearing the undergrowth for towpath users but completely ignoring the needs of the boater.
