THE Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation has reopened after a £1 million spend  on repairs over the past 12 months.

This  was fully opened again after Essex Waterways carried out its largest ever programme of renovations to the 14 miles long waterway that connects the rivers Chelmer and Blackwater.

The work included the Environment Agency replacing a 220 years old channel that was in danger of collapsing and bank repairs, etc funded by Essex Waterways.
