Can you believe it?

THERE are plenty of idiots around believing the ice can hold their weight, and falling through into the water, but these two must be the biggest idiots of all.

Two men actually drove a car on the ice down the Union Canal in Scotland—and of course the ice broke and the car sank with them inside, Alan Tilbury tells us.

But though the two managed to escape the Peugeot 406,  their escapade had a sting, for the two men, aged 22 and 24 have been charged by the police with reckless conduct, and they are expected to appear in Court.

Emergency services

The car was discovered by the emergency services near Winchburgh in West Lothian, with a police spokesman stating:

"While it goes without saying that the vast majority of people have the good sense not to take their vehicles on to frozen waterways, this incident serves as an example of the type of stupidity that the emergency services occasionally have to deal with."

With the thaw, there is now more chance of the ice on the canals giving way, with the police spokesmen remarking that it could have potentially fatal consequences.
