A slight problem

THE 'WaterSpace' basin proposed for Daventry will have leisure facilities for 'visitors who come to the town on narrowboats'.

Just one problem—there is no canal!

Yes, it's Daventry again where the powers-that-be intending having a basin to make its mix of housing, offices and leisure facilities more attractive,  including a cinema, hotels and bars, but it will not be connected to a waterway.

A public consultation was held on the proposals for WaterSpace, and residents made their views known, with a possible connection to the Grand Union and roads being the most discussed.

Daventry Council have now compiled responses, but intend taking it all forward to the planning stage in 2010.
